Monday, August 31st

After a long and quite exhausting journey we, more than 40 Austrian students, arrived in Southampton during the day. It was great to see each other again after two months holidays. We celebrated our reunion in a comfortable pub in the city. Surprisingly we noticed that pubs in the UK close at midnight, so we went back to Kimber Hall of Residence pretty early.

Tuesday, September 1st

Our first day at University started with a very warm and kind welcome in which we met our Course Manager Carolyn. We made a tour through the campus of Solent University and had our first English lessons. In the afternoon we saw an interesting presentation about the NHS (National Health Services) and the British health care system in general. After that some of us grabbed the chance to get to know Southampton better during a walk through the city with Carolyn. The day ended with cosy dinner in our kitchens.

Wednesday, September 2nd

On Wednesday even the last ones realized that our stay in Southampton has nothing to do with holidays, sightseeing and party. Loads of work needs to be done and our schedule is full of excursions, presentations and English lessons. But at the moment we really enjoy the time here and we are looking forward for the next 10 days.
